Whether traveling for tourism, business, or other purposes, it is essential to obtain the appropriate visa. Malaysia offers single-entry, multiple-entry, and transit visas, each with specific requirements based on your nationality and the purpose of your visit.

Types of Malaysia Visa

Malaysia has offered various types of visas to cater to different travel purposes and durations. As of 1st December, 2023, Indian passport holders can enter Malaysia for up to 30 days without a Malaysia Tourist visa. Tickets for the return or subsequent travel must be purchased within 30 days of the date of arrival in Malaysia.

Indian tourists can apply for a Malaysia eVisa online, which is valid for a stay of up to 30 days.

Malaysia Business e-Visa

If travelling for business purposes, you can apply for a business visa, typically requiring an invitation letter from a Malaysian company. The Malaysia Arrival Card is a document required by travellers entering Malaysia. The process has become more streamlined, with the Malaysia e-Arrival Card being introduced for select travellers.

If you're travelling to Malaysia, you may be required to submit an electronic version of the arrival card online before your departure or upon arrival. This card collects your basic details, including your travel information, health status, and personal information.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR MALAYSIA(TOURIST AND BUSINESS):

  • Completely filled application form
  • Two recent passport-size photograph (white background)
  • Health Requirements
    • Less than 6 months: Not required
    • 6 - 12 months: Chest x-ray certificate required
    • More than 12 months: General medical and chest x-ray certificate required
  • Character Requirements: If coming for more than 24 months, Police Clearance Certificate required
  • Passport
    • Must have validity of 3 months after intended period of travel
    • Have at least 2 blank pages left.
  • Overseas medical insurance with minimum coverage of Euro 30000. (photocopy)
  • Complete travel itinerary with return ticket/reservation
  • Photocopy of Applicants passport
  • If Employed, letter from employer - stating position, salary, length of employment and confirming leave of absence for travel
  • If Self-Employed, registration of company/business, business tax returns and account statements
  • Letter of invitation from New Zealand inviter
  • Evidence of previous contact with inviter
  • Bona-fide letter stating purpose for travel
  • Proof of Adequate Financial Means
    • Salary slips/certificate last 3 months
    • Bank Statement of 3 months
    • ITR last 3 years
    • Form 16
  • Proof of Accommodation
    • Hotel Confirmation
    • Letter of Invitation from Sponsor along with photo id proof.
  • Photograph Specifications:
    • Size 35 x 45 mm
    • Plain light colored background
    • Head should be in the center of the frame
